Hi,
does anyone have a schematic drawing on the 181 arms/bushes out of a manual?
Thanks for your assistance!

Maybe I just don't understand what arms are you talking about? |

I am like Dennis. I thought you were trying to put wiper arms on a lathe... The part you are referring to is called lower or upper front control arm.... Many Thing lovers have a library of various versions of Thing data.. Like the John Muir book or the Robert Bentley manual or the Romtoc CD. These really help out when you are trying to explain a VW Thing issue. The parts all have funny names. So the Thing "jargon” is useful... Most of the time when control arm has a scored or damaged shaft it is caused by a damaged front beam end bearing.. For most VW folks once the beam bearing are toast a new beam and its associated parts are a good idea. I checked in the classified and there are some good arms for sale there. Vince Sarnowski (VW Thing king) has a full set up advertised.. It would be an honor for anyone to buy parts from this VW Thing sage parts provider. and a great guy..... |
