You might say quench is less important with boost(high charge density).
I'm not really sure of why exactly, but if you think about how you pull timing as boost goes up it does makes sense.
Also makes detonation easier to hear, as it tends to be much louder without quench. That part is not so assuring, or is it??
WOT all the time then maybe ok, but for a street car...........there is lots of part throttle(LOW charge density)
To be less lazy check the width of the exhaust seats(too narrow?) and polish the ends of your valve springs(or use shims), and file the keepers. nobody's perfect Or many ways to skin a cat. Tims heads ARE very good! |

As you said, you don't understand quench - it doesn't become less important with increasing boost, just harder to obtain. It still shouldn't be confused with squish.
I'm sure Timms makes some good heads, it doesn't mean it is the only way. _________________ There has only ever been one man who was perfect, and they nailed Him to a cross. |

I was driving to mcdonalds the other day to quench my thurst when I squished a squril.... hemi heads work fine with the right parts with them, pistons, froced induction etc. my brother just got the first set of hemi heads to come out of edelbrock(well thats what they told him).they do work and they do work well.and oh somany engines have had hemi heads on them and had no real problems other engines didnt have. as with everything including wives, you need the right equipment to go along with them. |
