Seems a bit strange - that bus has a UK tax disc in the window and it looks like an SSVC sticker on the side window.
Seller's location says Archen, Germany, but the telephone number has an 01747 prefix, which is in Dorset, UK. The house looks very British too - wood grain effect uPVC garage door and front door and block-paver driveway.
Clicking on the 'Map it' option on the ad goes to St Olaf, Iowa.
That's not to say that it's not a German bus in Britain, or that the owner doesn't travel back and forth, but I'd want to know more about where the bus is if I were interested in it. |

0174 is a cell phone, mobile phone, handy from Deutsche Telekom. totally feasible. house looks kind of dutch to me, and Aachen would be right there. see no reason why that could not be legit.
call 01149 174 ...... and see what happens
52072 is the zip code for Aachen _________________ regards

No matter what they post, multiple people will call... And a few will send a deposit. Every time. |

I bet it went for 15/16. The pictures of that Bus on the forums were one of the reasons I bought a double cab. |

Seem like a good deal: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1717968
The seller is motivated and I talked to him. I wanted to buy, but with the strict title laws in PA, I would have to wait the Oklahoma 60-90 day title process, and I legally could not do anything to it for the time being.
That being said, It requires a new engine, brakes and lights. It needs a little cosmetic work, but don't let that paint turn you off. With $2000 or so, it could be back on the road pretty quick. Wouldn't be surprised if it sold within the next couple weeks. |

Hard to ship without a transaxle.
If seller installed a used trans and cheap motor, it would make a huge difference.
For example
I had a very solid clean original early bug and a rusty piece of crap later bug
for sell. I could not give the early bug away without a motor,
The piece of crap bug sold in a week because you could drive it on a trailer.
Because I never installed a motor in the early bug, it sat in my yard for 4 years. |
Agreed. But I do have some guys who can do it and are pretty affordable cross country... Snow is hitting up north,, so don't ship it this direction. Looks pretty nice. _________________ BreckSkier

I'm calling good deal. It has the front seats, a few pieces of trim and a radio...
And this thread hasn't had much action lately... _________________ BreckSkier
