Does anyone know where I can find the plug or fitting to plug the hole on a German 28pci carburetor? My 1960 VW does not have a vacuum advance, therefore this hole needs to be plugged.

Note, this looks like a pipe threaded fitting, and does not have a post coming out of the carb.

Thank you.

Need a pic as the only known threaded hols are for jets or bowl drains.

So visit hardware store and take carb with you.

Is it a tapered pipe thread?

The 36HP engine used a hard line with fittings like the brake lines. I would use a brake line cut off and with a rubber vacuum plug over the cut end.

The piece that I removed from th carb was straight thread.
I ran a die over it and it fit perfect. I couldn't find my pitch gauges, but the die was right on.

Not the last versions of the 36 hp engine!
note; the 40hp fresh air exhaust and the special long 36hp heat riser tubes on the intake manifold! The Sea Blue car was built Jan 13, 1965 and the engine is a matching numbers to the car. The factory engine photo is a KD replacement engine for fresh air 36hp engines built from 1963 to August 1965
Also not that the 28PCI in those later years have a pressed in fuel inlet to the carburetor compared to the earlier screw in hard line fitting.

I found mine at the local (rural) hardware store, it was even brass like the one above.
