Yea I saw that also. It could be a hack job. If they went to all that trouble to install a roof clip they should have put another window on the side.

Just saw a new Target commercial with a nice red/white splitty in it. It is a christmas commercial, and they even show the interior a couple of times.

Keep an eye out for it!

I saw that a few times over the weekend and what trips me out is that the exterior is a Kombi and the interior is a 21 Window!!

Anyone work for Target so we can get the inside scoop? Perhaps they used '2' splitties for the commercial.

Hello. The only Air-Cooled Volkswagen Commercial that I've ever seen is the one about the Snow Plow. I have part of that one on tape. I've been trying to collect the old DDB Televison commercials but they are hard to find. Anyone know where I could get some of those commercials? Thank You.

FYI, there are some screen captures from the show on this page:
http://image66amarillo.com/vw-f-v/lo.htm

Saw the episode again the other night for the zillionth time. Looks like a '64 or '65 11-window walkthrough with sunroof, 15" wheels and fried eggs, but the snapshot has bullet directionals Confused (the captured picture is small but they showed a close-up during the show). Oh well, it's a made-up story for a TV show, you didn't expect consistency... Very Happy

Doesn't look like a 15-Window to me but does look like a Green/Green Standard.
Someone on the site?

I love that commercial for the sentiment expressed. No input on the super-brief shot of the Splitty in the commercial. As a flight attendant for AA I get to see a lot of that "heading home to see family" action every Holiday Season, and although from my point of view it can be busy and hectic, it's always fun to fly folks home and watch the airport family reunions in the terminal.

Happy Holidays to you all! I'll be in the aircraft waiting to fly you homeward! Wear a VW or Jimmy Buffett t-shirt on my flight and you'll drink for free!!!

Been watching this show on YouTube. Really great, the guy talks about his early double cab that he wishes he never sold and attempts to buy it back. There are a few Porsches and a Ghia in another episode as well.

I was looking at some pieces for my Gopros on the official site and had a look at their new drone. This vid has a split and a bay in it.

After that...I want one.

Barn Find Hunter Ep. 21 Deluxe Split Bus and some other VWs. Great footage and cool commentary from Tom Cotter.

I posted this in another thread, looks like the same Mango with two-tone ribbed bumpers.

I hope he doesn't mind me saying, but that '58 Mango belongs to a Samba member, Stacey Z. Embarassed

My dad was watching Miracle the other day and shows this bus to me. The two-tone pressed bumpers were messing with me until I read that it was Stacey Z's bus. How cool!!

Thanks!
I figured it had to be a member here as there are only a couple ribbed bumper Mango Buses.

Not sure if this thread is "Splitties in commercials on TV" or "Splitties on TV or TV commercials".

On Amazon Prime TV you can watch a show called Weird Wheels. This is a guy that stores and protects Art Cars. This warehouse/lot was somewhere around Houston I think.

I Googled the show and it was originally 2003. Anyone remember this bus? It must have had semaphores.
