My 71 vert in progress.
I need to put smaller tires on the front, they rub pretty bad, and I want to pick the rear up about 1/2" to get rid of the neg camber. All the suspension is new and those are original 40 year old Formula Vee Mags that have been polished, I have a set of 5. Right now I have 185/65's all the around but will try 165/80'so the front since I have them to see if they don't rub. If not I will go smaller till I don't rub. Was going to go "German", but I live in Socal and in the 70's all our bugs looked like that. I had 4 Ghia's and 2 bugs.

Yeah got to love Bug's, but there were a few Ghia's in the mix too! I just am putting "Magilla" into proper cruz tuning. Magilla is a 67 Coupe & I'm second owner & 41k miles. I have all the tax stamps from Sacto with same name to prove it! I say Magilla because it's the real Magilla. That starts with Berg/Jet rods...if you know what that means. To match the rods badass, plop a wedged 86 Swedish Berg crank. Ok this with the LN Jugs running JE Slugs so we have a 2438CC Gorilla size motor. Your Basic all berg engine with 48DRLA's with CSP 42mm exhaust, a bit loud but get's the job done & has the look IE: no rust & that Python look thing...
Now the departing the Cal-Look, I went for 3;44 R&P on a Quiafe diff for that Magilla bite of asphalt. So with a dropped 3rd Magilla runs out @90MPH @6k.
Calling all old & stock era Porsche's to eat for lunch. I must say going with CSP Brembo's 4 pistons from a Boxster & GTI'sMK3 rear Calipers with a 20.6mm Mercedes Benz Master cylinder make for 100mph stops using just two toes on the pedal...well close to it! No fade & hand brake works better than it did in1967 fresh from the dealer! I ponied up the loot for set of the ATS wheels & got fresh Michelin's from Serbia. Let the fun begin... |

Very nice. Shouldn't the plate colors be flip flopped? And there's too many characters. Are these french vanity plates? |

Thanks, yes it's a "california style" license plate with french numbers, here for oldtimers cars we could use some black background & white letters only so I choose the plates with black background and yellow letters to avoid being too far from the french plates and having any problems with the police ^^ |
