i am installing a solid shaft rocket assembly with 1.25 ratio rockers. I am having issues getting the rockets lined up with the valves. Do I have to have a shim between each rocker and each spacer?

Yes

some rockers use a larger diameter shaft, you need different shims for those

Yes, but it is a real PITA to do with the engine in. It can be done, I have done it.

just be sure your pushrods do not contact the pushrod tubes.you may have to shim for that clearance.the rocker to valve isant that importaint, but if your pushrods contact the tubes they will eat through the pushrods Twisted Evil numb numb thats good stuff !!! I use lash caps on everything witch gives a better full contact. the rocker blocks will also move side to side a little as the shaft will also.

I had 10 and 30 thousandth shims wasn't enough so I ordered a set of 005-030 I should have enough now. It didn't look right not having any shim between the mounting block and the rocker.

I like cb's pn 1645 for the big shafts. 15s, 30s, and 50s. I wish they would put more 15s and 30s vs the 50s tbh. But one pack works great for a rocker set.

I set the inners first, shim the outers a tad tight and then hand lap the end caps or blocks to get perfect clearance.

So when you shim the rockers, what clearance do you need? What is the proper torque on the end-bolts? I have 1:1.1 rockers.

Sorry to bring this back up and high jack it a bit, but I have a set of CB 1.25 super stock rockers that were new still in pkg, that I think were older.

I can't get a shim between the block and rocker without having the swivel foot almost off the valve stem. and if I machined the block, the pushrod would definitely hit the tube. I've been told about this with these rockers.

I was wondering if there's a fix for this, or should I get new rockers

Get different tubes that have a wider mouth at the rocker end.

I guess you already figured out your geometry?

With the VW style 1.25 rockers the pushrod clearance is spooky close!

The .080 or so shims under rockers(usually .060-.090 required with swivel adjusters) do help slightly.
