I bought a car with a Lojack already installed. Does anyone know if it's transferable and what the fee might be? Will they come uninstall it if I don't want it?
What's the normal fee for Lojack? I assume more than I want to spend... |

Just got my answer from Lojack on a Wednesday night before Thanksgiving. (That's some good customer service.) Apparently it's a one time fee to have it installed. And it's good for the life of the vehicle. So I have Lojack for free. That's cool. This car just keeps getting better and better. |

I'm too lazy to look it up. I find it hard to believe they don't charge you a monthly fee. _________________ '62 Rag Top Bug

Ya. Me too. And why wouldn't you mention that when your selling a car? Plus for me. It must be expensive to get hooked up to begin with. |

Google lojack to see the pluses and minuses of this approach, vs an active tracker with a monthly fee.
Biggest problem for lojack for me is that they refuse to let you watch the install. I know every nook and cranny of my car and know FAR better where it could be best installed, but they refused to "play ball," and I don't trust them to not f*** up my restored beauty. |

Well it's already in my car. And it's free. So I'm not going to complain. I'd bet ten dollars it's under the back seat. Where else could you put it? |

Don't forget that the battery in the LoJack has to be replaced about every 5 years. You take it to a LoJack dealer and they charge you about $79 to replace it. _________________ Central Jersey VW Society
