Thanks for the link RareAir. Their globes are $5 each (good price) and the shipping to Australia is $65. Think I'll pass on that and look for some other source. Not sure how they justify that as the globes them selves are tiny. I placed an order for 4 globes and the total including shipping was $85. Fcuk dat!
The search continues. |

I would email them - they will probably accommodate you.
Otherwise contact me and I will order them next time I order some parts and mail them to you via normal USPS mail.
It will be cheaper, probably around $8-$10 shipping based on other stuff I have sent to Australia. _________________ How to Post Photos

Suggested contact in Australia for vintage globes -
http://www.classicandvintagebulbs.com/page3.html
I've heard good reports - I haven't used yet as I was ordering other parts from wolfsburg west so chucked a few in with my order. But when I next need some will try the above. _________________ 1960 Beetle ''Heidi" daily driver

Thanks Everett, Ive sent them an email as you suggested. I'll wait to hear their response.
I appreciate your offer. I'm sure they could be placed in a small padded post bag and be sent for a fraction to the quoted cost.
Lets see what they come back with eh?
Karly............
Ive also emailed classicandvintage bulbs to see if they have them in stock here in Australia. Thanks for the link mate. Where are you located? Im in Canberra.
Regards,
Matt |

I'm in Melbourne unfortunately didn't get any semaphore bulbs otherwise would offer to send you some! I'm still driving 6v daily which can sometimes be challenging parts wise, last time I went to a motor bike shop to get some head light globes. Seems the wolfsburg west ones are much better quality.
Another option would be to ask around and see if anyone else is doing a parts order so you can chuck some in the box! Wolfsburg west always charges a flat shipping rate which doesn't go up so much the more you keep adding. Last time I called them they were actually quite inflexible with shipping but that was a few years ago so they may have changed. _________________ 1960 Beetle ''Heidi" daily driver

I got a reply back from Classicandvintage and they don't have any semaphore globes. haven't heard back from Wolfsburg West as yet.
For safety, I might have to look at fitting some sort of motorcycle indicator down on the bumper bar and some form of third eye brake light as the hearts, although cool, are absolutely primitive and dangerous. |
