started working on my trike and found that the p.o. had no idea about wiring was done with speaker wires and crap not 1 fuse used so pulled everything off. no wonder he never finished it . So was wondering has anyone used the empi wiring kit on a trike ? what does it have is it worth getting or should I try to pull the harness out of a junk bug ? or what are your suggestions ? this is my first trike build but not my first VW.
thanks

Pulling out an old harness & going through it & splicing in the bike parts seems like work. Get a schematic & build your own harness. Simple fuse panel & some good wire ends & shrink tube & away you go. I am running a Ron Francis Bare Bonez kit & it is nice, labeled wires & nice clean fuse panel. _________________ I think he meant "rare", as in "not well-done" |

J.R.,
I used this self contained wiring module/harness. It's from Ultima and is designed for custom chopper builds. I had to extend the harness length to the hand controls - I used H-D bagger controls. It works. Can be had, new, from Ebay sellers for about $150.
