I just wanted to tell everyone my experiences with all three ordering body parts in the last month. My wife wanted me to pick my own Christmas presents this year and my 74 Thing really needs pans and rockers. Patching was possible but would be a lot of work. I ordered Right side pan and Right inner and outer rocker plus Left inner rocker from CIP1 with Black Friday shipping and discount!
I ordered on Tuesday the 18th of Nov. I got a call on Wed morning confirming my order and delivery address. I believe it was Andrea on the phone. She was helpful and confirmed other parts I wanted were on backorder and even emailed later to give me an expected delivery date! I had the parts on Friday the 21! The parts were well packaged and the only problem was the pan had a curled edge which was easily straightened.
I ordered the other pan and left rocker from Airhead parts and Mid America respectively. These parts arrived and also looked great. The rockers and pans all had the same labels from Denmark on them. I don't have pics but I can post if anyone wants.
I just wanted to let everyone know that they all gave great service and good prices.
CIP1 Really impressed me with their customer service and the FAST shipping.

You may want to add this to the feedback forum. I like CIP1 although in my experience their shipping tends to be slow. I usually only order from them for Ghia parts. Airhead is good as well - same ownership as Karmann Ghia Parts and Restoration - so again I tend to order Ghia parts there. I never order from MAMW. I find their prices to be high and they seem to be more into selling T shirts than parts.
In the future you may also want to consider thingparts.com and The Thing Shop for Thing specific items. I have had good experience with both. _________________ Ghia Owner Emeritus |
