My column is painted with PPG Black Urethane. I want to paint it using WW spray can silver beige. Is it better to just sand the ppg and paint over it? Or to sand it down, spray some white primer down over it, and then the WW rattle can stuff?
My only thought about primer was - covering some white primer with the WW silver beige might be easier than trying to cover black. But I know nothing about paint. So please fill me in. |

I have some WW silver beige spray can paint - it doesn't do very good at hiding (no light colored rattle can paints are very good at hiding). I wouldn't worry about sanding the black ppg paint off - it's a good substrate. You can sand it with 320/400, then hit it with some rattle can grey rustoleum primer or some beige rustoleum paint before you spray the silverbeige - either one will be fine. I think white primer or paint would make the silverbeige too bright. _________________ Wish List:
