|
I picked up this late 1950s era ALPS Oval Window VW tin toy from Japan.
It was a reasonable price as it is not in the best of condition.
The ALPS Oval VW was complete with all the original parts.
It was thinking about running it through the my Restor-Version Shop for a new lease on life.
It was suggested that I might consider doing a cleaning and polish job on it.
So I got out the Meguiar's Cleaner Wax, FLITZ metal polish, silicone grease for the rubber tires,
Q-Tips and cloths for the project.
I took a couple of photos of the process.
Here you can see the ALPS Oval VW from Rats to Riches.

Are your serious? You only cleaned the toy? How do you go from rusty bumpers to gleaming chrome looking? And the paint doesn't look like it ever had any rust issues with it either... and those hub caps! I don't know how you did it but it turned out great. _________________ My Beetles :

Me thinks there maybe two different ALPS cars here. A rusty crusty one and one that is excellent condition. |
