Do you mean the ducts? They can be found in the classifieds, or try some of the recyclers listed. _________________ '72 Elm Green Deluxe |

I think we are discussing the plastic link between the flaps behind the front grill on late bays, a cylindrical part about 1" dia and 2" long with a rectangular hole in each end. It's NLA unless you can find one from a parts bus. Copper tubing with the ends squashed partially makes a reasonable substitute. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

I'm a little embarrassed this detail escaped me so far. I just got a set of H32/34 PDSI Brazilian solex carbs and have had no end to troubles. I now see an issue. -2 is the left (drivers side in the US) and -3 is the right.
What would happen if you put the -3 on the left and the -2 on the right?
Hopefully putting them on right will solve my problems.... _________________ 1972 Riviera

While going thru a PILE of classifieds last nite.. I did see an entire fresh air flap assembly. But seems like an easy enuf part to make at home. I'm still working on getting rubber gaskets / foam on those that will seal off the air when I close the flaps. Driving over mountain passes in the middle of winter gets really cold when sub freezing air is whistling thru those vents!

I do know that 1500 mufflers won't work on a 1600. Found that out the hard way.... |
Yes it will and you should jump on that as fast as you can, smok'n deal for a real deal German muffler, giddyup! I put a similar one on mine this spring and it's absolute bliss, quieter and a better fit.
BTW 1500 mufflers fit 1600's just fine, it's the 1200's that are too narrow. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

You're right, it was a '40 horse' muffler I bought that didn't fit. Forgot that was 1200cc. _________________ -Andy-

There is a central pipe under the bus carrying hot (?) air forward. In front of the front cross beam a flexi paper pipe splits off to the shotgun side and goes up into a rectangular metal cross duct. There seems to be a control flap at that junction with a cable going forward. So what does that cable connect to and where does the hot (?) air come out inside the bus (from the flexi tube and rectangular cross duct)? I can't find any outlets (and it won't be running for some time.)
THanks! |

Are you going to buy that muffler? I just saw this thread; I've already called the seller, but I'll pass if you need it. I was only going to pick it up because it's cheap and on my way home from work.

Thanks. I've been all through that site. He doesn't say anything about anything forward of a gas heater.
Has an odd way of making gaskets in this day and age too. Molded silicone gaskets don't dry out, seal perfectly and are cheap and easy to make. I've been using home molded ones against low pressure oil (rocker covers). Air is a snap. |

I think you are talking about the flexi pipe that feeds the center heat vent. Between the front seats on the floor is where that comes out.
Is it part 12 here?

Yes, part 12.
Which way does the outlet between the seats on the floor face, front or rear? |
