ok i bought a new coil and fried my distributor points. are there any high performance distributors out there for the mk1 rabbits? MSD perhaps? just put an MSD coil on it.

replace the points or put a perlux kit in it. Or you can have it trigger an MSD box that will fire any coil and then you can run the points till the rub block or pivot bushing wears out. That is what I used to do with mine before I went MegaSquirt and installed a digi dizzy.

It was a dist from a car with the later "digi" management. It has no vacuum or mechanical advance, as that is controlled by the ecu.

Which perlux system are you talking about specifically? or which would you recommend I guess is a better way to word it.

A perlux conversion to go from points to electronic. If you have points, you have to be sure to use the resistor wire(ballast wire) that comes from the fuse panel to limit current to keep from burning up the points.
