How common are the single seats that slide in on the middle row tracks. It has the storage box built into the base with a door.

Not very common that I know of, not sure what years they were an option for. I had to look for a while in the samba classifieds before I found a base. The seat itself is the same as a front seat.

Yeah the one I'm looking at is 86-87 with non adjustable armrests. I'm inclined to pick it up for the rarity sake of it.

I have one in my '82 diesel gl. I was also puzzled, it is the only one I've seen.

Scored that seat yesterday. Perfect condition. No headrest , non adjustable armrests. Has the swivel! Score. Turns out the family has a syncro westy. Currently in a shop being painted. She was also trying to sell a diesel heater. That middle seat nearly cost me my syncro. Ill elaborate on the winter driving post.
