Interesting modern (T4 & T5) pop tops by UK company Vamoose.

Really like how flush it sits.

that is a very slick and seemingly well-thought-out aftermarket top. But wow, wouldn't removing 3 cross members from the roof really make the body flex? Seems like they took out a lot of the structural rigidity.

Honestly I don't see why someone does not make something that simple for Vanagons here in the US. It does seem very simple, and I like how the canvas attaches with velcro then gets trim fastened to secure it.

Bonus is the low profile when down.

Its kinda neat but I'm not thrilled about the removal of 8 feet of roof and the three torsional stiffeners.

The roof bed is also not useful for me - 5'6" unless you add the extension, which makes it impossible to get down and pee without waking up your wife and getting her to move...

I really like his instructions for putting away the window and the hold down straps.

Oh - and their van conversion is just about $18,000CDN Bring your own T4 or T5.

The hacking out of the crossbeams is a pretty dodgy move, agreed. Shocked

Looks like there's not much foot room at the little end, too... although I utilize a top mainly for headroom personally.

The T5 doesn't rely on the roof beams, they are only for the roof itself. No worries to cut them away.
