|
|
I was given these (5) VW bumpers to sell for a friend and I am having a hard time finding out what exactly they are. All 5 are stamped & I could read a number on the inside of 4 of the bumpers. Here are the #'s I found:
B390 4VW0
H454 2VW3
B430 1VW2 (has original VW sticker on bumper)
B431 1VW2
???? 4VW8
Any information anyone could provide, such as when they were made & approx value would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

They look like they are all the same front bumpers. $200 each would be cheaper than rechroming. _________________ https://imgur.com/user/FisherSquareback/posts

The sticker reads "tested in the Volkswagen plant". This would be the assurance of an OEM-manufactured and tested spare part. Certainly raises the value, whereby I don't know if other suppliers like maybe Happich had ever made their own spare parts bumpers for the Type 3 due to the much lower production numbers than Type1. |

Yeah, my first thought was that they are all the same (going off the pics). Maybe you could lay them out on the lawn, so we could see if they ALL have the same shape. The difference between front and rear is slight, and easier to spot from above (you might have a rear or 2 in the mix). _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Based on the bolt holes, those are all rear bumpers.
Rear:
Front:

Just put them up on the classifieds and see what they bring...
Remember, type 3 people are notoriously cheap,
This ain't the 356 or Ghia crowd, that's for sure!
It might be prudent to take and put a shine on them, take good close-up pics and properly describe their condition.
I'm in the market for a set of new bumpers, but only if they are perfect.
There are these new stainless re-pops just out now, and they will make OG bumpers like yours harder to sell for top $$$... _________________ Bus Motor Build

Yup, I got a price quote from a guy in Florida for a complete set of early t-3 stainless bumpers W/ overider pieces, AND a set of 73 Ghia stainless steel bumpers (for a late t-3) of 1300 with shipping. You actually get a better price buying multiple sets. I'm really looking at getting them. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

I have one bumper on ebay right now. It has 3 days to go and its at $167.00. I have four more bumpers left. I will take pics of them this morning and post them. Im not real familiar with them, so you will be able to decide if they are what you need or not. I kind of want to see what the one sells for on ebay before I give you a price. |

There are 4 bumpers left, the 1 sold for $205 on ebay plus shipping so I am offering the other 4 at $200 each plus the cost of shipping which should be right around $40-$50. I am also going to post them in the classifieds today. Let me know if anyone is interested. |

I would like to know if somebody here bought one of his bumper?
I paid him on the 17 november, and asked him to ship it later, around christmas time, he agreed and told me to let him know when to ship. He was always fast to answer me by email.
I emailed him on the 8 december if he ad the time to ship the bumper, but no response from him. I tried with different email adress in case I was in his junk folder but no luck. I wrote him a pm on the samba yesterday, I noticed he was online on thesamba today but still he doesn't get back to me.
So I opened a dispute with paypall. If it goes bad I'll let you guys know so he doesnt rip other people.
It looks like my christmas gift just evaporated _________________ 68 Perugruen Notchback |
