Did this old bird sell?If going to the USA I have been through the whole ordeal of buying buses in Canada and having them shipped down. I can help the buyer contact the right people to get it down easier to their door. |

I pulled the ad because I would have had to take the day off of work to go through all the emails. I pasted a link to the this thread hoping people would read through it and get a good idea on it yet I still had people asking if it runs and how the floors are. A really nice guy from England wants to buy the bus. He made an offer the owner is very happy with and is just trying to sort out shipping. I'm giving him some time to make sure it's do-able before I take a deposit. Its not sold, just on hold at the time. Ultimately the best sale would be someone showing up with a flatbed handing over cash and loading the bus. |
pm me what the asking price is......have a trailer, have cash.... _________________ If the RV Hut is a rockin, don't come a knockn'

Gareth aka spit Nolan most likely bought it hence he's in England and he posted up his 60 mango right after the ad was taken down. He's been wanting a BD quite awhile. Correct me if I'm wrong _________________ [Fiddy Whip] |

You are wrong, I did not buy it. You are right in thinking I tried though. I couldn't sort it out fast enough for what the owner wanted. I tried my best and gutted I missed out.
I will keep looking, and hope whoever did get it will do a good job and share on here the progress. |

i must say well played by posting it like you did that's the best way to drum up interest in a bus like this.
1.new screen name
2.act like you dont know what you have
3. post pics
4.then take the highest offer.

Barndoors are business unfortunately and who's to blame wanting the money it's worth ( if it's worth )
Now I am interested to see what becomes of the bus. original, lowered, patina, restored ? worth another story on here for sure! _________________ Hotrods, Fords, Veedubs and Triumph Twins !

Mopar enthusiasts are just as smart regarding car culture and the desire for certain vehicles as VW enthusiasts are. They are also very detail oriented regarding their cars so I don't see it to be a shock that Lbone found the samba and it brought market value. If you found a mopar that was worth 30-40k I bet you would have done the same, Will. Or maybe I am giving you too much credit? _________________ www.blastserv.com

If you google search how to determine the year of a VW bus thesamba pops up first. |

Ok guys, I legitimately had no idea what my friend had here in the barndoor bus! Yes if you google determining age of a VW bus it takes you to the samba but trust me another forum member here had to tell me where the vin was.
I really feel bad for Gareth I know he wanted the bus very badly but unfortunately it wasn't my decision to make. the buyer is a samba member and wishes to remain anonymous.
If I really knew what the van was worth in the first place it would have went straight to the classifieds and anyone who thinks it was some greasy marketing ploy your mistaken.
I really have enjoyed looking through the photos of members buses and projects and will still drop in to see what else is new on the boards. I think I may try to buy that other bus off the owner as I have really gotten a new appreciation for these fine machines! |
