Does anyone know a place that sells JUST the porsche shroud for a type 1, got a Porsche ring and fan unit so i can make it full size or 260mm but not 240mm

also i'm in the uk so thats a consideration.

I've seen some from the likes of CSP ect but i was looking at about £150 or less (delivered ideally) or less second hand.
if i have to i'll just have to cough up the extra but id rather not if i don't have to!

Cheers

Andy

PS i'm not interested in opening a debate about the style and effectiveness of cooling, i'm well educated in that matter Smile

i bought from Sharpbuilt in Australia and
Gerd Wiser Dusseldorf (GWD) from Germany
Sharbuilt kit is for standard 270mm fan housing , for GWD they can provide 270mm , 260mm
The 240mm is not a genuine Porsche housing

in your country you could ask la performance
http://www.laperformance.co.uk/blog/

sorry, but with your budget it will be difficult, keep an eye on ebay for a used one.

Sharpbuilt only seem to do the kits, which is fair enough as you need there stand also due to using full size rings, and postage might be a bit extreme given it couldn't be further away, but the exchange rate is good so....?

Will look up GWD and see if they have a site ect.

i did buy a shroud which looked like the CSP one, but it was 240mm, as you say, thats a repro ring and you can't physically make a Porsche ring that small.

Yeah LA performance is my option if i can't find one cheaper, theirs are £180 for grp and £280 for carbon fibre an about £35 postage.

The thing that gets me is there just a shroud, empty and probably not that expensive to make (but its overheads ect i know)

i got lucky and got my fan ring and alt for £100, so i'm ahead of the game anyway and its an opportunity i can't miss up!

Thanks for the info, will try gad next Smile

ok, but what about the alternator stand ? are you going to make it yourself ?
every kit has its own stand , i made my gwd stand but it is a lot of work

other option may be mss, they do the csp shrouds

Sharpbuilt also sells spare parts , so you may buy only the shroud
