Yes correct. The last couple of years for me has been disruptive (well it started that way).
However I worked in the background on building the 80m2 fully polished concrete floor brick walled car construction area for the 2 x 1500 Type 3's.
I also just got remarried in early November to my stunning wife and poured another 75+m2 of concrete out the front of the house for parking.
This is in addition to the double garage already on the property with 3 phase power and now connected to the lathe with the mill being the next big $$ purchase.
And to top off the month (if possible), I just turned 40 and also finished the mechanical restoration of a late split window beetle (lets just call it a zwitter..).
So yes, I am getting a lot of stuff done. The infrastructure is key to being able to do these high end restorations so that was always the plan- get that correct and to a high standard and it's a great enabler for the works I want to be doing and to be remembered for.
I could ramble on a lot more about this but there you go. Food for thought. _________________ Aaron

Thanks Jason.
As you know I have been collecting parts for this car for over 25 years now and the time is now here to assemble and enjoy.
You can bet your NOS Abarth has found the right car too.
Next up will be assemble the front suspension, the pedal cluster and complete the stainless steel brake lines. The completed pan will look sensational especialy with the near NOS Maico's bolted up. _________________ Aaron

Hey 1500 people. I'm in the process of dismantling an engine from a '65 S. there are a couple of domed pistons and cylinders and whatever is in the case at so e point the engine had a piston blow up and the knock a hole in the case. If you want any parts, no guarantee on their usability, let me know and the only cost is for shipping. I will give you a couple days to decide the it all goes to the recycler to make tuna cans _________________ '68 Lotus White T34 automatic sunroof

Yes while not complete 100% obviously, I thought I would give an update on the front suspension and Maico's on the 1500 'S'.
I did upgrade to a dual circuit master as you can see as I thought it would be a better bet than the single with the Maico's now in situ.
All brake lines are stainless steel too in case you are wondering.
I might drive it without the front caps hey! _________________ Aaron

After seeing those brakes in your signature for years, it's awesome seeing them installed.
Awesome build. Can't wait for the body to come together. _________________ 1963 Notchback - Ruby Red

Man that looks beautiful Aaron. Where did you get the new Michelins? Just asking, as over here in the states, you can only get them thru Coker Tire.
Can't wait to see how nice the rest of the car turns out. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Michelin XZX are getting harder to find in Australia too.
I have a few brand new ones (various sizes) wrapped up for this and other cars.
My next pair of 165's will be coming from the UK delivered to my door- look up Longstone tyres.
Merry Christmas and all the best for 2015 people. _________________ Aaron

I managed to get one of these Christmas eve, What's the correct finish? Gloss, Flat, or semigloss? I'm going to guess the latter but if I'm going to spend time re-doing it, I want to do it right

Got my NOS trans mount today so bolted the transaxle in.
Yes that is the original transaxle for the car. I wet blasted the housings, chromate coated all the magnesium, 2 pack painted black, milled the housing for the longer shift rod (upgrade), re-assembled all gears and synchro's (re-shimmed it as required), replaced very little else internaly, plated all the original hardware, installed a pair of Berg side plate savers (painted black so you dont see them....) and used the 1 piece axle boots etc as you can see.
The engine is temporarily there while I source the hardware (it's in a big bucket being cleaned right now) and as I alter the original tinware to suit the Okrasa head pattern.
Moving forward with it every week chaps. Hope you enjoy. _________________ Aaron
