I had to drive home from school in the rain today, not usually a problem but 36 miles in the VW in a moderate rain at night is no bueno.

The wipers bind up, so I pulled one off and had to use a dang clothes hanger with a hook to unstick the other while driving at 60 mph three times on the freeway. Shocked

To make matters worse the one wiper I have on it clears about 6" rather than the full length of the blade. Evil or Very Mad

The wipers stopped binding up after about ten minutes of use (they bound up four times), I'm not sure if the motors were just stiff from not having been ran in a long time or what, but that needs to be fixed, pronto.

How do I fix the poor performance from the new blade and arm?[/code]

Will do. How about getting positive contact from the blad to the windshield so that all of the blade works?

Could be the spring that holds wiper to glass is worn or the place where the wiper arm meets the wiper blade is binding

I took it completely apart, cleaned and regreased it. The old grease was thick, nasty stuff.
I do need to get new grommets for the wiper shade where it goes through the body though.

Thanks for the help. Very Happy
