My name is Paul, I am currently living in WA but moving to NY in Jan. I would like to build a Baja Bug and would like to find a VW club near Albany or Troy NY. Hope to meet some fellow VW fans. Probably have a thousand questions while building my Baja. Thanks everyone. |

Washington to New York? I did that 2 years ago. I'm hoping to be back to Washington in 2016. There are very few ACVWs in upstate New York vibe only seen a handful since I've been here. Finding used parts is impossible, and what you do find are almost double what we would pay on the west coast. There is a guy in Clifton Park that sells Thing parts, a good source of you want a thing front suspension. Other than that, there is a club in Syracuse about 2 hours away. And the Connecticut VW club does a show every Father's Day. |

You should attend any VW Shows/Drags/Swaps in the Northeast. That is 1/2 the fun of owning one, but go even if you haven't bought one yet! Bajas go from mild to wild, but I see lots of mild daily driver bajas here. Craigslist should be fertile ground for finding something to suit your tastes/budget. This facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/strictlybaja/ will give you more ideas. _________________ https://imgur.com/user/FisherSquareback/posts

Welcome! I realize you asked about NY clubs but CT isn't too far away and the Connecticut Volkswagen Association is a great club and is very active.
Here's a link to their webpage
