Did you disassemble the CV joint? They can actually be put together two ways, one of which has very limited angle range and can knock or bind.

Hi ronbug,

My first time rebuilding my cvs

Notice the points on the inside. These are rebuilt incorrectly. As KTPhil mentioned the joint will bind. If you rebuilt them and you placed back together like the image above, you need to undo it and rebuild them. study the image to see you have a large flat spot matching with a smaller one.

Do you have a Bentley available to reference? Hope my image here helps.

Glad it's fixed. CVs knock or click when worn, but it's always worth the check for the cheap fix first.

They often last the life of the car if they are greased and the boots are looked after.
