I just broke down a "D" hole 1200 long block hoping for it to have cam bearings, No Joy oh well. one of the heads was badly corroded in the chamber from water, it would take quite a bit of welding and reshaping to match the other chambers, Is it worth it to repair it? neither head had any cracks that I could see.

judging by the classifieds i'd say no. (if you're paying for it, if you can do it and want the challenge then maybe)
according to the formula v literature the factory 371D heads are the best. 373 heads come in second.
there are plenty of 373's in the classifieds. plus other square boss heads whose part no you can't read.
edit: a link to download the formula vee handbook where the head preferences come from: http://www.fvawa.org.au/Resources
I don't think the 371D's in the classifieds are the ones they are talking about as they are aftermarket round boss heads. |

I don't think it would be worth it, I took a better look at it and it would require the whole chamber to be welded...
Its a "373" Head, I might even have another one in a box some where.
