“V-Dubs in the Park 2” Volkswagen campout and show in the best little mountain town in Oklahoma, Medicine Park. Pack your bratwurst and marshmallows and come camp along Medicine Creek with fellow Volkswagen aficionados and enjoy FREE live bluegrass/funkabilly music all afternoon and evening Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in the heart of downtown Medicine Park. Dust it off, shine it up and display your ride in the car show from 10-5 on Saturday, March 21, 2015. All VWs are welcome…air-cooled, water-cooled, Type whatevers, kits, rats, trikes, buggies, and even our Porsche cousins. Last year, we limited it to 50 Volkswagens due to space limitation, but this year we’ll make room for everyone that comes out.
Registration for the show is FREE, primitive camping at the old Medicine Park School ball field along Medicine Creek is $15/ night, and a super-cool event t-shirt is $20. If you have too much fun Friday night and want to sleep in and just hang at your campsite, that’s cool, but we’ll break camp Saturday morning and cruise across the creek to get set up in the car show area near the music stage by 10am. Camping is primitive so for those who like to shower and sleep indoors instead of in your dub or tent, there are numerous lodging options available at www.medicinepark.com. The show will start at 10am on Saturday, March 21, judging will start at noon, and winners of each show class will receive a first-place event certificate and be announced between bands at about 3:30pm. The show will officially be over at 5pm on Saturday, but feel free to keep your ride parked in the car show area and enjoy the music or head back over across the creek to campout another night under the stars.
The event is organized by the Mountain Bike Club of the Wichitas and proceeds will go toward the development and maintenance of bike trails, skills course, and a pump track in Medicine Park specifically geared for kids and beginner mountain bikers. If you have a mountain bike, bring it and join us on a ride through some intermediate trails Saturday morning at 9am. If you don’t have a bike, then get out and volksmarch and enjoy some great scenic views of the Wichita Mountains. A map showing all the local trails is posted at Base Camp Adventure Outfitters in downtown.
Medicine Park is located on the south shore of Lake Lawtonka, directly adjacent to the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge, so take time to cruise around the lake, through the refuge, and even up to the top of Mount Scott. Just make sure you have good brakes for the ride down!

Only a few more days until V-Dubs in the Park 2 in Medicine Park, OK.
preregister for the show at www.vdubsinthepark.com. There's also a non-judged category for those who just wanna hang out and enjoy the scene. Looks like sunny with a high of 71 degrees for Saturday! Camp out with us Friday and Saturday nights...see you there.
