If I had the resources I would for sure host the show. Let me contact another thing owner maybe he will have some ideas for a Vegas show. |

It has been such a long time since there has been a West coast Thing meet, I think we should stay with the plan Eric is working on to host it in SoCal for 2015. Maybe in 2016 we could do Vegas?

Not that I have a dog in this, but there are alot of good shows in April in Cali. The spring fling in Madera is and has been a favorite of mine for some time now. We usually get a large in flux from socal and norcal at this one. 300 plus cars. For a good turnout, not conflicting with other dates is a good idea. |
I agree and May and June seem to be even more packed with VW shows. If we are going to the beach, we could plan for the summer if we can secure a good location. |

David Campbell threw the last Thing get to in Lost Wages, I think in '04. About 25-30 Things the day before Bug A Rama at the Strip. A few years earlier German Motor Works had a few shows in Garden Grove, drawing maybe 100 cars. We live an equal distance from both and would attend either. We also have three guest rooms for those traveling from the NW and could use a place to rest for a night. Must like BBQ. _________________ I may not be that funny or athletic or good looking or smart or talented....I forgot where I was going with this

I miss the GMW Thing shows of the past at their shop in Garden Grove. The last few years of their Thing event, it was wrapped into the Classic in Irvine. It would be great if GMW would host again, but from what I heard, those days are sadly over. Stoked to hear about a Socal Thing show revival. |

I agree with Matt, the GMW shows were a lot of fun. Lots of cars and even a little swap meet area. |

I'd like to see a show in Vegas myself!
Not sure I could drive/drag the THING that far, Bransen bout killed us on that trip, it was a doozie!
So, I heard a bit about an Ohio Thing show, was that this year?
any details?? Might could make that one!

Count me in. We just bought a '74 thing and it would be great to meet others.
If I may suggest our humble home city of Ventura, CA as a possible site? We are just north of LA county on HWY 101.
San Buenaventura State Beach is right on the sand, with tons of parking, shade, restrooms, two hotels across the street, food and other services within walking distance. |

It would be nice if the show was more centrally located like Modesto or something in that area. A lot of Things up North, I normally try and stay away from LA Area. _________________ 72 181 Ambulance

If you want to plan and organize a Thing event, I'll make the drive. I lived in Elk Grove for grad school and still enjoy Northern CA. With the So Cal plans on hold, whoever steps up, has dibs on the show. |
