What is the VW part number for the grommets used on the lines coming from the brake fluid reservoir to the master cylinder?

Its not in the VW Thing parts brake down.

Is it 211 611 817A?

Thank you all,

Z

I would also like to know about this grommet. I recently replaced all my brake lines, hoses, cylinders, etc. I searched around for a correct membrane grommet for the brake lines and couldn't find the right item. I simply kept my old, hardened grommets in place for now.

Is there a better solution? What do the amazing Domecks use for this spot?

I have not found a replacement for these. We are still working from used ones we have.

This idea may not suit some people's taste, but often in places like this I center the hose or line in the hole with some kind of wedges or bushing and then apply silicone to one side of the firewall. Once the silicone sets I apply silicone to the other side. Done well this will last a very long time. You can also use polyurethane caulk verses silicone, but then removal will become that much more difficult. Another alternative is to cut up a one gallon plastic oil or antifreeze jug and make a plastic washer that fits the hose or line well and then adhere the washer to the firewall with your chosen goo.

Can anyone post some pictures of one of these original grommets? One of the difficulties in replacing it with something similar is that I can't remove my old ones for fear of them cracking into hard, black, chunky dust. I left mine in place.

A couple pictures would be really helpful if anyone has an extra lying around somewhere.

Thanks in advance!

Best I can find is McMaster-Carr #9600K98. Pack of 25 $13.48. The original has a hole size of 15/16 and a inside dia. of 1/2. The one listed has a I.D. of 1/2.
