EMPI Door Pulls - Ribbed Doors

I've tried searching here and on Google...will the chrome EMPI door pulls work on ribbed doors?

I was a little unsure about drilling holes in my 54 ribbed doors so I attached the door pulls to the door panels and they have worked fine on good quality panels from Sewfine. If the panels are flimsy you could brace then with an extra piece of plywood or similar from behind.

Appreciate the feedback...my main concern is them sitting flat or banging against the rib.
