We drove it tonight at dusk. Its runs great. Never went over 180 degrees and just drove in the neighborhood. Its quick too but we haven't really explored that yet. Just 1st and second gears. We did make it to 44 MPH according to the top speed on the GPS speedo though.

We have a few issues to deal with though. The panic stop test didn't go as well as I would have liked. The pedal gave way and when we got back we had brake fluid coming from the front left side. Turns out we have a brand new and faulty brake light switch. With help from the able assistant fiance I took off the left front and found when she pushed hard on the pedal that it was literally spraying out the side of the switch. Never seen that before.

A few other issues include a bit of high idle and the tach seems a bit off too. We are getting a slight grind in first but in no other gears. I'll see about that one and believe its just shifter adjustment. We had a slight rub on the right rear side and that wasn't a big deal. BUT it looks like i'll have to add some height to the plates to allow for rear seat passengers.

Very happy. It drives very solid. The pressures in the tires may have to come down a short bit too. We had 30lbs in the fronts and 25lbs. in the rears.

We still have to wire in the horn and attached the windshield with mirrors after we redo all the rubber in the frame. Also have to put in the rear seat belt.

All in All a very good day.

Well it was another good day. Got the windshield and mirrors on. Ran it down the beach road and it was a nice ride. Have a few kinks to work out but all good.

Brakes are pretty strong.

No more than 180 degrees at all times and it cooled really well.

Need to move the shifter a bit more to ease first. Also need to adjust the idle.

More squawks conquered tonight...

Found the issue with the Idle tonight. Adjusted and purrs at 950RPM.

Fixed rearview mirror that wouldn't stay tight.

Adjusted (with the help of Dale and samba members) the proper ohms for the fuel gauge.

gotta do some other issues now but next on the list is to get the backlighting for the gauges right and the rear right height. Also still having issues with the 1st gear engagement and the shifter is all the way forward. Might be the scat we are using...is a used unit and might need a little massaging.

Looks Great I run 20-25 in my front tires its does make a difference but my tires are more narrow, I run 30 in the rear. youll have to plan to bring to that show n shine over around Jacksonville in May . I bought a trailer so I can haul my Allison when needed. Maybe you can get a video of it running. Vince

Thank you all!

I replaced the turn signals with led bulbs in the rear tonight. I also replaced the stop and running lights but went back to bulbs as the LEDs weren't as bright. Oh well...

Then I made the mistake and cracked a lens. Oh well...order another tomorrow.

Drove it to carabbas pick up food tonight and created a stir. That was fun. Some guy says its just a vw. I said it's just a Subaru with near 200hp. That caught his ear.

The radio picks up pandora off my phone and that's a neat feature when crusing around.

The suby pulls real good even at low rpm. Not like a vw. It doesn't bog. So far no faster than 56 mph for a top speed but why be in a rush? Second and third gears are favorites.

Some days you just sit and stare at it.

I finally figured out where to put the horn and will final mount that tonight. Its just ahead of the beam but tucked under the cowl. The "horns"for the horn sick out to give sound in the proper direction. Next will be wiring the horn and park lights at the same time.

I'll be resetting the rear suspension next week. Right now we cannot take back seat passengers without touching the tires. We actually touch the tires to the fenders already under certain circumstances but we'll fix that.

Also on the list is the gauge lights that need to be hooked up. The glowing needles for the lights already work and are great to see operate at night.

With any luck we'll be ready for the Miami Show in Early February. That will be the show debut.

thanks John!

Some pics from Today's adventure. I donate time with a veterans group and was able to get the following pics today. This is the Allison Daytona with the B-17 and the P51C.

We have 65 miles on the buggy now with no major issues!

More work on small issues this week.

First show with the car and went to the VolksBlast in Miami. It was interesting to run along at 65 mph. That's about all I'm feeling comfortable enough to do. The car doesn't seem to care other than the fact that the driver and passenger are getting beat about with the winds pretty good. I would like to tighten up the steering box a bit. It has a small dead spot in it. I'm hoping I can fix that without too much trouble. I'll try to post some pics on the Volksblast thread.
