Finally the car is out of the paint shop! it took ages because we had some issues with the reassembly of the engine (mostly electrical) and finally we are all set.
Right away I grab the new wheels that were resting there and had them installed,I Think they look AWESOME, What do you think?
On Monday , the car goes to the electrician, I will have all cables, lights, instruments redone, will make sure everything looks nice and tidy and to roll some cables needed for the gadgets i want to put on the next week. After one week there, the car will go to the sound place to have all sound system, speakers and gadgets connected.
Hopefully, the week after that, upholstery and it will be (not quite ready) but almost, and finally, I will Finally drive it around to enjoy a bit.
Thanks for your comments, ideas, tips in advance, and also pardon my poor english.
Best regards, Hernan

Absolutely, it is on my to-do list. Actually I think there is some metal extra there, I think I can take it out and leave a thinner arm.
Thanks! |

It's absolutely gorgeous! I love it , you have a great looking Karmann Ghia man. As long as the rims have the Wolfsburg crest on them, how could I say anything negative great attention to detail.
You should drive it, and enjoy it ALOT - not just a bit! _________________ 1973 karmann ghia - current, not the last VW.

Excellent...looks great in almost every way.
But...and I hate to be the one dissenting voice, those headlamp profiles just look plain wrong. Flat glass just doesn't do it for me I'm afraid. I know we've discussed this before but I think it makes a huge difference. |
Agree , I have a pair of those rounded motorcycle type ones looked on eBay just in case these ones don't work the way I think,. Actually those are xenon with a nice looking white halo that might just work good, they are not connected at this time, next Monday will light them up and I will decide: flat but sexy weir white halo or trash them away to get those rounded good looking ones.
Thanks indeed for your comment, will post pictures of sunset karmann with lights on asap.

Quite a challenge to get them, I had to have them built exactly the diameter size for those empi wheels in an Europe online store I found, let me know if you want their url so I can find the invoice wherever it is.
They sure look better with the logo !

For me my objection is nothing to do with illumination and all to do with the sympathetic appearance of the curved lenses. They just look as if they were made for the Karmann Ghia...that's my opinion; nothing would make me change it.
It was discussed at length in the H4 topic here...

There is no question about it, the headlights in your picture look far better looking than the original h4, mine look plain and simply wrong, however, lit they do look awesome.
A good question would be if the round ones like yours come with that white halo as well...
Anyhow, I do have a pair of those great looking ones ( like your picture ) localised at eBay. |

Yes , it looks really good... (At least in Photoshop) they should look even better in real life. This Saturday car is out of the electrician (and me out of the country for 15 days, dammed!) I will post some pictures of the re-wiring job and real halo pictures.
Thanks for your comment, regards |
