Dimensions have been rounded to nearest whole number. Found it very interesting. With 150hp the Karmann Ghia becomes a contender power wise. Looks wise its number 1 hands down.. All cars range from 838lbs to 1444lbs in weight difference, except the 86 Corolla which weighed only 176lbs heavier. Hope you enjoy. Feel free to add in the same format if you choose. I will add more myself.

Anyone able to confirm if the 1918lbs for the 70 Ghia Coupe is correct. Just seems like a lot, I honestly thought these cars weighed 1500-1700lbs. |

Actually, Karmann Ghias are pretty heavy at 1800 pounds...pretty cars, but relatively heavy, slow and just okay on fuel.
There are not too many cars that weigh only 1700 pounds. I had a 1986 Honda CRX-HF (HF= high fuel) that weighed in at 1713 lbs...it had an all plastic skin below the belt line, plastic hub caps, plastic, front fenders, very light weight alloy wheels, aluminum ( with steel lining) rear brake drums, hollow camshaft, 2 rings instead of 3 to cut friction, battery charged on de acceleration, instead of acceleration...all to save on weight/power and allow the small car to get 60 miles to the gallon...at 55 mph, the RPMs were at 1400, in fifth gear.
length: 154"/width: 65"/ Height: 49"/WB: 91"/ weight 1713lbs./ power to weight: 1 hp to 30 pounds.
3rd car in line in a parade of my cars...2010.

2012 Mini Cooper Base
2015 Ford Mustang Ecoboost
2015 Subaru Impreza hatchback
I have added these stats to show what power is required to have similar performance compared to modern cars. |
