We had a blast at this last year! I'm pumped it's happening again. Here's a blog post I wrote about last year's event:

My parents joined us for this camping extravaganza, as did our "we love to go camping" border collies. The people were great, the vans were inspiring and the views, mesmerizing. We love Moab and the weather was gorgeous the entire time. |

It's funny to reflect on last year. We'd just gotten our van back from RMW and it was in tip-top-shape. Its SVX engine ran great and we made record time from Moab back to Denver (5 hours). The next day is when things started to go downhill.
I washed the engine for the VWs on the Green show. The next day, the engine started "lurching". We drove it a bunch for the next month b/c we had a bunch of trips planned. It made it about 1500 miles before the engine seized. Since then, we got an H6 3.0 from RMW, some new bumpers and we're ready to rock it this year.

Trish won't be joining us this year, but I plan on bringing my parents, my boy (aged 10), a motorcycle or two and our two border collies. Looking forward to it!
Cheers,

It would be so nice to get the time for all of these this year!
For sure the Solstice and maybe the Overland Expo.
Hans, if you are thinking about the Expo let me know. We could band together from here. _________________ 1987 Syncro Westfalia Hightop - NAHT

Boo!
The week-earlier SS timeframe for 2015 might keep us from attending this round. The next weekend (~5/16) works much better for our schedules, but we cant change the world to meet our needs....
work and other commitments might kill it for us.
maybe I'll just make it myself, but that would be a hard sell to the rest of the Fam. They love the van and traveling in it as much as I do! _________________ sold -> '85 Wolfsburg Syncro / 'Built' DOHC EJ25 (a great machine!)

You too, Matt, looking forward to it.
Our plans are slowly coming together. We're leaving Denver Wednesday, camping somewhere around Cottonwood Creek, then taking a southern route and hopefully arriving Thursday afternoon.

Ha where can I get one of those stickers? My van is half a Syncro at the moment and has a engine from a Pontiac Solstice installed. I'll hopefully hit these events next year once the front half of my conversion is finished up. _________________ 86 Syncro Build - Ecotec Motor Swap - Pop Top Conversion - Camper Build & Syncro Conversion |

Wow--that is some serious coincidental appropriateness right there!
Mine is not a Syncro, so I didn't want to put anything directly on the van that might make anybody think otherwise (which brings to mind this absolutely classic thread.)

Check with Solstice Master Johnny (Classicvibe.) He might still have some of the stickers. _________________ Joe T.
