Did u used adapters or did u replace the hubs with the correct bolt pattern?
From what year and porsche model are these?
They look really nice, are they flush with the fenders? |

They are off of a Porsche 966. Running 4 wheel disk brakes drilled and studded in the Porsche pattern. I am using a 1/2" spacer in the rear with none in the front. _________________ All it takes is a little imagination, some mechanical ability, and neighbors who mind their own business

THe thing with DesertBobs, slimpims and mine is they are all Supers which have a wider front track and more clearance for bigger wheels unlike standards which need a narrowed beam to get clearance back so you don;t lose too much turning circle. _________________ Quick little bug, you got a Porsche motor in that?

Gotcha, didn't know that detail.
Is the any way I could go wider without rubbing, maybe using some adapter, spacer?
Or I guess going with a wider beam, I wouldn't want. To go that route but just wondering. Would like to go cheapest way possible without compromising. Fenders is no issue for me as I will be working on that. I'm more concern with turning and rubbing.
i notice here are more possibilities going with wider wheels. |

wider fenders and just wheels with the correct offset so spacers arent needed. _________________ Quick little bug, you got a Porsche motor in that?

Thanks btw for helping. |

A lot of variables there, ie how wide you go with the fenders, what size tyres you run, how much turning circle you willing to lose etc.
BEst thing to do is get the offset and width of your stock wheels and put some figures into an offset calculator like this and see what you come up with.

Thanks for the link.
in reality I don't want to loose turning circle.
When it comes to the fenders, I'm going to work withe them when I get the wheels, I will build the as needed to fit the wheels I get.
Basically what I would like to avoid is rubbing with any parts and losing turning circle. 8 don't really care how much the wheels stick out as I will correct that with new fenders.
I know how to work with fiberglass so my goal with them is to get a wider set up flush with the fenders, maybe 1 or 2 more inches the most. |

It's been more than a decade now since I last had a standard bug so I can't remember exactly fitment but with stock fenders you are pretty well limited to 7" wheels and a stock width beam around et35-40
Ideally to keep some turning circle a narrow beam and some et 25 ish wheels would be close to the mark. _________________ Quick little bug, you got a Porsche motor in that?

So am i understanding this correctly, a 17 x 7 rim with 55mm offset will fit a super with little to no rubbing issues. |

Depends what year super but regardless you will need narrow coil struts.
Et55 is ideal for 74+ 2 bolt but a 71-73 will need 1/2" spacers _________________ Quick little bug, you got a Porsche motor in that?

Today I decided to try my 18" bbs lm wheels from my z to see how they look in the beetle and realized a problem I could encounter if I order wheels on line. The spindle
/nut sticks out a lot. I didnt think of this but if I order some new aftermarket wheels this could happend. So what do u guys are doing with this, wonder if the same would happens whit the the porsche wheels.
Pics of what im talking about. In the first pic is suppose to stick out like 1" more. Love how the car looks with these wheels.
The wheels im interested in are 17x7.5 et 42 and they are similar to this wheel. .

@ wellcraft ---- that is why everybody is talking about offset and spacers to make the rims fit _________________ Remember, as you travel the highway of life,
