Hi all, I have a 1958 SWR/ Pressed bumper Panel. I am yet to run the chassis numbers for my own use but the PO said that he did run the numbers and came up with a match. Would this be considered rare? I know it was a 4 month only combo. Its in pretty good shape right now. I am getting ready to do the window rubbers and floor quarter repairs. When the PO found it, there was no suspension so it was only a shell. It is lowered with a 1600 dp. I received an offer of 22,000 and want to keep it, but if I can find another, Ill sell it.

PO here. This bus was dicussed in another thread somewhere. People did not believe it was wax red. But it is. It is not fire red. I had a fire red 58 at the same time. Way different in color.
And it is a pressed bumper bus with flat engine lid.
Everything you see here is a very old repaint. The inside was og paint

Empi, I believe you completely. I pulled the overhead panels out and found beautiful SWR along with what is under the red overcoat. Ive gotten a lot of crap at local shows for what they think it is. I am just trying to figure out an overall count and rarity of the bus. I don't really want to sell it, but if I can find another, I might consider it.

It's not the original bumper to the bus. The one that came on it when I got it was very mangled. But it is a pressed bumpered bus

Personally, if I was offered 22k for that, I'd sell it and buy something with windows...I drove a panel for years and as much as I dig 'em, havin' windows just made the drive more enjoyable for me...

That bus is sweet! The only thing that could make it any cooler is it was a walk through. I'm a panel lover so I guess I'm one of the crazy ones. Lol

I'm with you Dustin, that panel is bad ass! I'm waiting for the weather to warm up so I can continue stripping the 5 layers of paint over the og SWR on mine.

Too bad the original bumpers are gone. They might have been silver white pressed bumpers. Very rare.
