|
|
1st post!
Just picked up a 74 SB Vert and have a question about the forward-back adjustment on the seats. Pull the handle to move the seat back and it just continues back until it comes out of the track and the front rail falls to the floor.
Even I'm smart enough to know this aint right. I'm missing something but what?
Thanks,
Tad

there should be a tab to keep the seat from going all the way back _________________ Rick

There is a small catch that prevents the seat from going past the last setting.
It is located under the front slide.

Looks like I'm missing that part on both seats.
I assume this isn't something I'll find from the usual suspects, looks like I'll need to fabricate something.
I'll check though.
Thanks,

Pick and pull is where I have found them in the past. Usually a part most folks don't really care about. _________________ Ace

That piece is actually a spring, as well as a "holder-oner". Making it would be difficult.
I'd put in a WTB (Want to buy) ad in the Samba Classifieds Gemneral Parts Bugs 1968 and Up.
Show the picture. The Classifieds have never failed me, yet.

I made mine, sheet metal and some tin snips. It has plenty of spring for what it has to do. |

pt, mine were missing, but ...
... the PO had them in a coffee can in a parts box that he gave me.
I was rather shocked that he didn't put them back on after re-carpeting the bug.
Anyway, I'm glad he liked to save parts. It's a bitch when you go to adjust your seat--and it slips right off the tracks .
