Clara here are are your photos let me no if you need any more.
The lever is from a hand throttle that the farmer hooked up. He probably used it to set it to a speed jumped out and onto the load bed and feed out the hay for his sheep. Things were done a little risky in the 60s

Managed to get all the running gear out this week. A couple of seized bolts made for some entertainment but we got there.
Mudd unlike a good whiskey dose not get taistier the longer it sits.
My engine is a recycled one and matches the number on this warranty booklet would my original engine number have been stamped onto this engine?
Must have been a previous owner

That sheep cage looks like it could double as a shark cage
With the key ring it has about the handicap, maybe that had something to do with the gas peddle set up.
Do you have more pictures of the front of the truck?
That's cool to have the papers from VW on the replacement motor. With you being a tractor mechanic, that should help you getting this SC back on the road again. Keep taking pictures, we like to watch whats going on, mate. _________________ I know you would understand what I'm saying if you could just see my HANDS

Cool, doesn't look too bad from here.
The key tag is similar to ones we used to get around here from the War amps charity, for a donation they would keep that number on file and mail you back your keys after the finder dropped them in a mail box. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

This must be a similar thing as I have seen the owners papers which has all the owners since new on it. It only had two names on it that of the milkman and the farmer. This key ring had me stumped so thanks for sharing the info. |

Have been working on my rotisserie this week it's been a challenge but a lot of fun. I have chosen this type of rotisserie due to my garage size restrictions and having another car in their as well. My roof frame is 2.10m high so have built my hoops at a 2m diameter. My front hoop has had to sit along way forward to fit around the cab so had to build a bracket from the chassis to reach the front hoop. I assumed the front half of the sc was going to be far heavier than the rear due to the whole cab being there boy was I wrong. So I put the front as high as I could before it hit the roof frame and it was fairly close to being in the middle of the hoop so I was pretty happy with were it was. I started on the rear which I just tryd to make level with the front it was fairly straight forward compared to the front. I went round the shops in my town to find some caster wheels to use their wasn't a very good selection so got the best ones I could find they were made out of rubber and plastic i tryd them out but it was quite hard to spin the sc as the wheels compressed when the weight was on them. It was much like trying to push a vehicle with half flat Tyers so they got turfed out and I orderd in some solid cast wheels which worked much better. My next problem was the way my hoops were rolled being overlapped in a spiral when they were rolled when welding the hoops together I parked two vehicles on ither side of the hoops so the whole hoop was flat and welded together but it can't have bein flat enough as when spinning the sc the part where the hoop was welded together rubs on the wall of the peices of angle Steele. So a few things to fix the height of the rear of the sc in the hoop and the hoops them selfs but I guess at lest we're spinning and work can begin. I'd like to thank glide king for making people think any body can build a rotisserie.

Hi all haven't been doing much on the single cab lately don't really want to start cutting it up before I have the replacement panels. I have put my order in though and they should be on there way over. It was exciting enough placing the order I can't wait for when they actually arive! In the mean time I pulled the SC out of my garage to wash the under side as there was a lot of dirt built up.
Had to take off the door and then the hoops still only just squeezed out.
If I left all the dirt there I might have felt a lot better not being able to see the rust.

You should take a look at the 1959 Funky truck build. It has alot of good info on redoing stuff on the rotisserie . Cool project btw

Time to take loose any foundation anchors and jack that garage up for a few layers of brick or cinder block. You will need more roof height in there!!
Have done that with entire house. _________________ In Stereo, Where Available! |

That bus looks a LOT more solid than I was expecting knowing it was submerged in mud and water all those years. Great job building that routissary. _________________ Contact me at [email protected]
