Presently have 135 80 15's with 2 1/2 dropped spindles with standard beam. What's the max sized tire that will fit without rubbing? Have standard smoothies by the way and 165 80 15's in the rear if that has any factor. Thanks so much for any and all replies. _________________ Stu

Are you looking for a wider tire but the same diameter as the 135's, something a little taller, or? _________________ On a lifelong mission to prove (much to my wife's dismay) that Immaturity is Forever!! |

Thank you for the reply ALB! Would have liked a wider tread, however for the lack of responses to my post from last week, I went ahead and ordered new 135's from JEGS. Should be arriving tomorrow. For future reference, what would be good for a wider contact with the road 165/60's? _________________ Stu

135-15- 23 1/4"
185/55-15- 23"
165/60-15- 22.8"
175/55-15- 22.6"
175/60-15- 23.3"
The 175/60 is almost the same rolling height as the 135, puts a lot more tread on the ground and Yokohama makes it in the Avid ENVigor line, which is classed as a high performance all season tire. The 185/55 is just a little shorter, but is getting quite wide, especially since I just saw you still have 165's on the back. The 165/60 is about the only thing that isn't super short- http://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireSearchResults.js...unFlat=All
The continental is the only tire this size that Tirerack lists, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's the only one that size made. _________________ On a lifelong mission to prove (much to my wife's dismay) that Immaturity is Forever!! |

Smart car tires are the way to go. Lower profile and more tire/tread to the ground. I used these on my Empi 8 Spokes when I lowered by 71 Super. No rubbing, smooth ride. _________________ Aloha'z and have a great day!
