My 1986 GTI fuel pump and plastic housing need replacing. VW says parts are no longer available. My original fuel pump is 60mm. I show replacement fuel pumps in 55mm or 63mm. The company Redline Motive sells plastic housings. Has anyone had success fitting a compatible pump and housing combination? Any suggestions for resources for both or either one?

The 60mm fuel pump is available from Parts Place Inc. for VW's. $150.
Good luck- pretty simple replacement.
