i am just about finished my first paint job on my bay window.

two-tone (white / green) base clear.

i have done 3 coats of DTM high build, blocked it smooth after a guidecoat (via 400 grit)
sprayed a sealer coat
3 coats of white base (overlapping the belt line)
dried, then masked off the belt and top and sprayed the three coats of base green
let that dry and then sprayed the clear. it went on awesome, but i had several runs (i've never done this before)

Now here is my question / issue i need help with: Instead of keep going with the other two coats of clear, i stopped and let it dry for 2 days. I then took an aluminum mask and sliced off the runs (worked GREAT).

then i wet sanded out the remaining, but i burned through the one coat of clear very quickly on three spots and got to the sealer.

as of now, the whole bus is sanded back to 800 grit in prep for the next clear (as its been too long for a chemical adhesion)

i haven't been able to find help on this scenario yet (via searching), so i turned to you guys.

Here is what i am planning, but i need confirmation from proffesionals as i want to do this right. Do i blend in the base over the spots (over the 800 gritted clear), then let it dry and then essentially start the clear process again?

Spray multiple Thin coats of color & clear. Practice paint/buff an old panel if you want to be sure of the outcome.
