Golf 99 or 99.5 how to tell?

Hey all a water cooled newbie here. I usually drive aircooled vws but I recently picked up a 99 golf with the 2.0 . I want to pick up some parts and my little brother told me that the 99's had two body styles but didn't know how to tell. Any help would be appreciated it's a fun car to drive I just want to give it the tlc it deserves. Thanks.

That would be the mkIII or mkIV body style. You tell us what you have.

if it was an aircooled bus I'd be a little more knowledgeable but I don't drive that in the winter. It's great to be in a vw year round Very Happy
