| I picked up a 74shell and the paint isn't that good. It is flaking. I think it was rattle canned over old paint. Is there a way to tell about what kind of paint was used? |

If the paint is flaking off, it really does not matter the type of paint. It will have to be removed. The old days if you wiped thinners over paint & some wiped off, it was lacquer. Nowadays it is a bit tougher. If it is coming off in pieces, go to the car wash & see if you can spray it off with the pressure washer
