So far on the "Buses of GD50" site, 21 bus owners say they're definitely going to be there, and another 4 will go if they can get tickets.

I won't go, but I will be curious to see how the scene unfolds. Having Colorado plates on an old VW Bus (or any car from what I have read) means a high risk of law enforcement harassment going through Kansas,Nebraska, etc etc. and I'm just so tired of that its not worth the trip. |
I don't blame you. I got pulled over twice in Kansas within 20 miles and nearly a third time in 30 miles.
First stop was for 4 mph over! And headlights weren't on and my wipers were (light sprinkles) I have Daytime running lights as I pointed out and he gave me a warning!
2nd time was for no front plate. I had a black TDI jetta with a white California Plate. I told him I already got pulled over 10 miles ago and he let me go.
3rd time cop was radar in median. I had cruise at speed limit, he pulled out 1/2 mile behind me and I hit the rest area. He followed me in. I had no reason to be harrassed, I will NEVER go through Kansas again! |

Nebraska is a bit safer for travel (with Colorado plates), especially at night. My motto was "fill up and go" with very few stops..primarily at truck stops. None of my buds have tickets either. Go work the lot, there will be lots of ticket turn-over in the last 15 minutes. Keep a look out for over-indulging college kids to sick to make it inside, or just walk around holding up $200 cash. _________________ Fat chick owner/operator |

I don't know if I'll get tickets, but I figure I'll just point the bus north and hit the gas for the adventure of it. _________________ KK4NTP

The Grateful Dead-Dead Ahead concert from 1980 is on PBS here for 1.5 hours. It's nice to see & hear them again in their Prime! _________________ https://imgur.com/user/FisherSquareback/posts

has anyone here had their money orders cashed?
the phone numbers for money order verification are:
WU
1-800-999-9660
USPS
1-866-459-7822
"does NOT match our records" means it was cashed or you can just wait for the live person to tell you the news.
most of my friends orders were rejected. some got lucky though.
there is a book published by the Dead about mail order and envelope art called "Dead Letters" it is well worth the price. _________________ .

So how many people actually got lucky with mail order or Ticketmaster? I was able to get tickets for my wife and I using mail order and got a ticket for a friend using Ticketmaster. Hopefully the prices start dropping to realistic levels for those without tickets. Looking like it will be a pretty good turn out for Buses doing some urban camping during the shows. |

We totally struck out. Got our mail order rejected and got stuck on ticketmaster for hours with it saying "wait time less than 5 minutes". No way would I pay what people are asking for tickets now. _________________ '79 Westfalia Deluxe Campmobile, 2.0L CA FI, Mexico Beige |

It took me exactly 59 mins to receive 1 ticket from Ticketmaster. I used the phone app I do not know if that helped me at all but I would think I got one of the very last tickets. |

I got denied after about 35 minutes of staring at the refresh screen. I tried two more times, and gave up.
Honestly, given how crazy it is going to be, and that camping at the site got denied, I'd rather just watch it from home if that is an option. _________________ KK4NTP

I'm hoping they offer it on Pay per view- that way I can enjoy it the same way I usually end up playing golf: D-O.

We got our PFO letter this week. Very sad
And somewhat disappointed with GDTS. The letter was post marked
Mar 4. We had somewhat fooled ourselves into thinking that we
were going to be successful and didn't try the Ticketmaster angle.
And a check with Stubhub shows prices beyond belief.
Double or even triple face value would be enough, they're far more
than that.
Question for those in the know...Are mail order tickets only being
sent out in June? (and that to discourage resale perhaps?)
Ticketmaster tickets I assume are instant print at home kinda deal
and therefore transferrable in real time?
Just trying to understand the dynamics of buying from a reseller. _________________ Gerald P
