84 rabbit sunroof weatherstrip

My buddy is restoring his 84 rabbit with factory sunroof. He can't find an exact match to the original weatherstrip. Does anyone know if the reproductions work fine even though they don't match? Or where to find one that matches an original? We are thinking about restoring an old one with some new felt material? He's at a stand still with the vehicle in his driveway getting snowed on. Also needs a clock rebuild. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I recently ordered some rubber from them to use on the rear quarter windowson my59 Ford wagon since the actual seal is no longer in production....

Look at MK1 Autohaus on the web or on eBay under the same name. The have a lot of mk1 rabbit stuff including sunroof seal.
