|
|
looking for ideas...when braking from 20mph+ down to a stop, I am hearing a 'clunk, clunk, clunk' sound as the car slows...best guess it seems to be coming from the driver rear wheel. Its a very soft clunk...which has me guessing from inside the drum.
any thoughts? _________________ ________

Open it up, get the drum off, and clean the chunkies out of the drum.
Gave a new set of brake shoes ready to go. Do both sides, please. _________________ .ssS! |

Same thing happened to my car, the drums torque had loosened. All new parts, so I assume they had to break-in. Jacked it up, removed the cotter pin and retorqued. No noise in ~4 months now. _________________ 1956 Ragtop |

Thanks all...Rustforlife wins the prize, opened, couldn't find any issues, back together, re-torqued, and clunk is gone. Best type of repair, any day. _________________ ________
