I have a 1973 Super beetle that has a terrible front wheel shake between 40 and 50 when accelerating. I have replaced the steering sector, steering gearbox, front struts, steering stabilizer and had both the tires and rims balanced. Any ideas ?

Yep--tie rod ends--first! Ball joints--second!

Lift the front and have someone grab a wheel and push/pull it at six, then twelve o'clock. Watch the tie rod ends for looseness--inner and outer (most likely, outer).

Do the same on the other side.

Use jackstands--of risk losing your head.

Idler bushing, 4 new tie rod ends, 2 front bushings to fix the shimmy on my '71 SB.
