I just got a fresh new tank from the thing shop, now I'm looking in the trunk at the myriad of hoses running around in there and wondering "what is all this for and is it helping or hurting?" Also, many of the hoses were corked by previous owner.
Can someone please tell me how to set up my fuel system so it works right, doesn't leak, and doesn't stink up the cab? Pics and diagrams would be wonderful! Thanks guys!

That has been discussed here before. The hoses and the small tank are used to take the gas vapors to the engine. The Thing Shop has a gas smell kit that has all new hoses. 40 year old hoses can't be good.

There's a diagram of the system at the bottom of the Technical/Wiring section. Download the PDF file.

I have been on here questioning TTS on their policy of not giving me written responses on their bikini top. It's only fair I point out to those who don't read everything that their "gas smell kit" was installed on my Thing, and it get's a double-thumbs-up from me.
