While I'm sure many of you genuine westy owners will hate me for this I just scored a complete genuine flip seat for my 58 panel. Bulkhead was cut out by P.O so I'm making the most of it, will be aiming to build the ultimate simple but effective camping interior and the flipseat is the most important part of my plans Smile will post photos when it arrives.

Does anyone happen to know if only certain year or certain country's had seatbelts in flip seats? I've got a genuine flipseat sat here to go in my bus and there are no recesses for seat belts. Not a problem for me as the bus doesn't have them anyway but i m curious as all the other seats I've seen have had the belt recess

What month, year, destination code is yours?

Our MAR62 tourist delivery with USA wiring/speedo has the lap belt mounts.

January of 62; no belt mounts.

M525 is the MCode. Maybe buses Mcoded had seats with the slots in them and others didn't as the belts would be dealer or owner installed.

I don't think so. I'll look but it's Mcoded US Spec.

The seat isn't actually out of my bus, I bought it for my 58 to make use of the cut out bulkhead. Just found it odd to not see belts.

Chair did not come from a Volkswagen camper. Seat top shows no signs of having a cushion on top.

Just to clarify, the gallery picture a few posts above is likely not an original westy chair.

I have seen some known originals up close that look like these:

https://www.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/453822.jpg
https://www.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/276417.jpg
https://www.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/276416.jpg

There are a lot of chairs out there that are very similar, but just a little different.
