I did a search and found nothing on this. Has anyone ever undercoated the tins that are not visible? For instance, I am rebuilding my engine and going over everything and the tins were most rusted where they faced the cylinders. I was thinking undercoating would help protect them. Any ideas?

It would most likely hold dirt and debris, so I would not do it.

I just clean them up well and give them a shot of Rustoleum professional series black.
