I'm looking for a cheap tool that'll read off my automatic transmission fluid on my sister's AEG 2.0 Jetta. I saw some scanners on eBay that said VAG and such on them, but I have zero experience in shopping for this kind of stuff.
Contemplating changing the fluid in the transmission as the car will occasionally shift hard from second to third gear. _________________ ---------------------------

I have a vag-com. After I bought it one of our VW club members who is a VW dealer tech said an infrared thermometer would work to measure trans. fluid temp. I have never tried it but seems plausible.
Here is a link to some Harbor Freight offerings.

Thanks. I have one of those things and was contemplating using it. Sounds like plan. _________________ ---------------------------
